The Wizengamot reaction was amusing but not surprising. Nice chapter but rather short per FFA standards. ;)

Fine. You're no longer evil.
Just as well there's no cliffie this chapter or I would've been forced to hunt you down. *grin*
Excellent chapter, I enjoyed it. Can I plead for an update soon?

Crys replied:

Yes.   :)

Seriously, the next chapter is about 2/3 written.   Can't make any promises on the timing, but it's getting written faster than many have.

*chuckle* The right bribery always works.

I loved Hermione's letter; she's obviously mellowing out a good bit (points to Kevin for that alone ;) ). It will be interesting to see how her friendship with Harry redefines itself.

As to the vote, it must be galling to Baron Parkinson and allies to find an intelligent and forward-planning Gryffindor, especially as this doesn't necessarily bode well for their side.

I confess, I had some of those thoughts myself. Such an nice cliffy, though.

Dual casting? Makes sense - and would almost be required for the very reasons mentioned. Should have been a little more difficult, in my opinion - a desperate move made in the heat of the moment does not neccessarily mean one can repeat it five minutes later with a clear head. There's the whole division of mental effort behind each spell to consider - would each spell be half as powerful, or twice as draining?

Either way, good work. And now we return to my regularly scheduled lurking...

Crys replied:

Casting twice as often results in a slightly weaker spell and roughly twice as draining in the the same timeframe.   What Harry doesn't realize yet (though his teachers are beginning to suspect) is that he's got more raw power available than any of them.   Once he fine-tunes his energy usage, he'll be seriously dangerous.

The mental splitting thing would be tough for many, but remember that he's been going through Occlumency training all this time as well.

Thanks for reviewing.

OUTSTANDING CHAPTER!!!! BLOODY BRILLIANT!!!! I loved the latest update and I seriously can't wait to see what happens in the next chapter. I'm glad to see that my guess was right and that Abbott got voted into Interm Minister for now. Its my serious hope that when it comes time to really vote for a new minister that Mr. Abbott will be the one to win the voting. As for the plot bunnies I have I will leave them in the next review because I lost everything due to a nasty virus/possible hacker...stupid hackers. Anyways Do keep up the amazingly awesome and outstanding work and update soon please:):):):)

Great chapter. I would have expected more of a response from the Prophet and a further response from Parkinson or other DE's, but you wrote it well. The letter and articles just seem to be thrown in for information sake, and at least the letter could have used something to tie it to Hermione or Harry in the story, a bit of her writing it or Harry reading it, with the thoughts behind either, would have tied it to the story better, IMHO.

Thank you for writing.

nice short5 and to the point chapter - with some nicely done psychologic tuning on the poor boy = for the type of inducements Tonks is offering several well known wars have been fought, and who but a metamorphmagus could rate at 1200 milihelens?

thanks and warm regards

Crys replied:

*laugh*   I see someone else reads Kinsfire's sigs.

Hey, he's a teenage boy.   She just recognizes what motivates him.

Nothing wrong woth your little cliff hanger (smile)

Very good chapter its good to see Hermione doing better

Too short...Need more Dumbles bashing and more Harry and Tonks and less Hermione. Remember, if it is a choice between long chapters and fast updates, I vote for both...
PS: I thought it was a great chapter, and not a "grate" chapter. Hermy was the only thing that grated.

Crys replied:

Sorry, Noylj.   You can only vote for one or the other :)

*chuckle*   Grate/great.   I wondered if anyone else read the reviews

A great chapter. I can't say I'm happy about Hermione being paired with a nobody and having so little to do with the continuing story, but I think character death is better than pairing her with Ron or Draco. I like how Harry is maturing in this story, gaining skills and a sense of self that he's never shown in the books.

However, I do have a rant.

I am abso-frikking-lutely sick and tired of "Dork Lord," "Moldyshorts" and the rest of them. Sick, sick, sick. I'm seeing them in half the stories I read nowadays.

Like those beer commercial Man Laws, I think it's time for Fan Laws.

Fanlaw 1: silly scripted disclaimer scenes belong to Bob and Alyx. Not Finbar, not Kinsfire or any of the other two dozen writers doing this now. Fanlaw.

Fanlaw 2: Dark Wanker, Dork Lord, et al belong only to Kinsfire. Not you, not the other three hundred writers abusing this cliched turn of phrase that's already gotten too old in Kinsfire's own stories. Fanlaw.

On that note, I can't wait to read the next chapter, beause I really wanna know where you're going with everything. :)

Interesting method to bring out new capabilities in Harry's fighting skills.

I just love this tale.

Awww... I'm bitterly disappointed. I was hoping for something like:

"Sonorus. ARE YOU DEAF, OLD MAN? HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO ASK YOU NOT TO USE MY GIVEN NAME? IS THIS LOUD ENOUGH? DO YOU HEAR ME NOW? OR ARE YOU MERELY SENILE?"

...Actually, I lied. I'm mightily enjoying this tale, even given Harry's quite sensible restraint. Please continue.

Crys replied:

*laugh*   Great idea, that.

Don't think it has a place in Scion, but I'd love to see this approach used somewhere.

Thanks for the review!
