As much as I dislike seeing a strain in the relationship of the trio, I think your characterizations are spot on. The ward that detects the Dark Mark is a very clever idea. I'm really enjoying this story!

Mousetrapped!Dumbledore...I love it! (Harry set up the new ward, but forced Dumbledore to take credit for it.) UNfortunately, the new net catches some fish (including Jack Sloper, one of the Gryffindor Beaters, as well as a Ravenclaw, a Hufflepuff, and several Slytherins, including Crabbe and Goyle, but NOT Malfoy). MLE Director ("Call me Amelia") Bones personally clamped the manacles on all the Marked students. A giggling Amelia?
