Just a little side note. Remus is one of the few people in the wizarding world who aren't affraid of saying "Voldemort". Harry was shocked/impressed by it when he had his first real conversation with the man in his third. Harry was wondering why he didn't get the opportunity to face the dementor, and Remus casusally said, "I thought that would be obvious. I assumed that it would turn into Voldemort," or something to that effect. Harry's innermonologue then expressed his amazement/relief to find another person beside Dumbledore who isn't affraid of the name "Voldemort". So far I'm loving this story, even if I do primarily ship Harry/Ginny.

I like the limitations you put on Tonks' morphing ability. I get sick of people assuming it's unlimited. Thanks for another wonderful chapter.

I was wondering why you set the limits that you did with metamorphamagi (plural form?). If a wizard can conjure something, is that not "creating" mass? I enjoyed the Harry - Tonks interaction. I thought that it was quite realistic.

One question. Maybe I am being dim but why did they visit the chamber of secrets earlier. Is it because Harry wants to check the facts for his story to the prophet? Though that seems unlikely.

i really, *really* like this story! it's very well-written (which is a rarity!) and engaging.
i'm glad that this is harry/tonks and not harry/ginny as most het pairings seem to put those two together. i dont have anything against it but tonks deserves more scene time:)

Other than Harry and Tonks being together and Remus perfering his own gender, you have an excellent story here! Though I must point out that there is a lot of slandar for one Hogwarts Headmaster, and while i whole heartily agree that he is a manipulative arsehole, Ive seen only a couple of stories that looked upon him in favour. He did die in Rowling's Half-blood Prince, so you would think that some sympathy, albiet undeserved, would go to him!?!?? (>.

Pleasant chapter. No earth-shattering action sequences or surprices, but some good substance that fleshes out Harry's current life. Tonks' observations on Harry's duelling weaknesses were interesting, as were her comments on morphing (I think I've read the centre-of-mass theory elsewhere, maybe on Jeconais's group - or did you cover it in The Unknown Power?).

I liked Harry's desire to see the 'real' Tonks - something you did cover in The Unknown Power, I think. Always a nice touch though.

Good chapter - did enjoy your putting in the limitations aspects, although most HP fic seem to put them in only so Harry can blow huge holes through them. Hope that Harry and Tonks get to snog a little soon.

Someday Harry will think about the soft tissue issue and be caught in an embarrassing situation changing some of his...features. It is bad enough when someone walks in on a teen wanking, but if he were experimenting with length and breadth it would be simply mortifying.

Poor Harry! This actually runs right into Kelly's issue of How Does The BWL Have A PRIVATE Social Life. Harry needs privacy simply *because* he's Harry, and Tonks needs one as his girlfriend. However, three Rather Large Issues get in the way:

1. He's her patriarch. (Never mind that she's older than he is, and ALSO never mind that the patriarch bedding the hired help has a history in wizarding Britain MUCH longer than in Muggle Britain; Appearance Is Everything!)

2. He's the closest thing to wizarding royalty that exists. As simply the Boy Who Lived, Harry Potter is an icon in wizarding Britain simply by kicking Tom's butt from his crib. Throw in that he's richer than almost all OTHER wizards (including those older by at least a century; offhand, I would say that only the Flamels come close), still single, and has been kicking DE butt on a semi-regular basis since age eleven, and you have a true wizarding ICON-PLUS. And he's only sixteen.

3. He's the third most powerful wizard or witch living. What Harry's done magically has ONLY been matched or exceeded by two other living wizards: Tom and Dumbledore. Godric has weighed in and plainly stated that he COULDN'T match Harry's capabilities. (And Harry is not through getting all his capabilities YET.) Power alone is a major attractant (albeit usually the WRONG sort of witch); however, Harry IS aware of it.The Prophet has attacked him numerous times BECAUSE of that power. Again; he's only sixteen. He will only be STRONGER (not weaker) at fifty-six (which isn't even middle-aged by the standards of wizarding Britain); MAYBE he'll START to grow weaker when he reaches Dumbledore's PRESENT age. (Then again, given how much Harry has rewritten the Magical Rulebook, he may wreck the expectations here too.)
